The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our Surgical Unit team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of reception and clerical duties required for the efficient operation of the unit, including data entry, ordering and maintaining supplies, admitting patients, scheduling appointments, and answering phones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Entry: Accurately enter patient information into databases.
  • Supply Management: Order and maintain necessary supplies for the unit.
  • Patient Admissions: Admit patients to both inpatient and ambulatory units.
  • Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments and procedures.
  • Communication: Answer phones and respond to messages in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Diploma or GED Required.
  • Previous experience in an office/clinic environment preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word required.
  • Initiative and ability to multitask within a team setting required.
