About the Role:

VON Canada is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in Nova Scotia. As an LPN with VON, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing medical care to children, youth, adults, and seniors in their homes and other settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical care to clients in their homes and other settings, including diabetes management, dialysis, medication management, palliative care, phlebotomy, and wound care.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' physical and emotional needs, and develop plans to address these needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and provide education to clients and their families on medication management.
  • Provide emotional support and counseling to clients and their families, and connect them with community resources as needed.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the province of practice.
  • Experience in community health an asset.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle required.
  • A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check required, and a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or a Child Abuse Registry Check may be required.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
