Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Summary:

Concordia Hospital is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients, including independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, collaboration and interaction within the healthcare team, and participation in the coordination of patient care and discharge.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing wound care, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Administer prescribed medical treatments, including medications and therapies, as ordered by physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in the coordination of patient care and discharge, ensuring that patients receive the necessary support and resources to achieve optimal health outcomes.
  • Document patient care and treatment in a clear and concise manner, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately recorded.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the province of Manitoba.
  • Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a hospital or long-term care facility.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Indigenous patients and families, with a demonstrated understanding of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
  • Knowledge of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses and the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses.
