Site Superintendent – Buildings

Job Summary:
Thompson Builders Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Site Superintendent to oversee the construction of a 4-6 story wood frame multi-family project in Edmonton. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Thompson Builders' health, safety, and environmental standards are met or exceeded.
- Organize the job site, sub-contractors, suppliers, and crew to carry out the project plan.
- Oversee all on-site construction activities on a daily basis, enforcing company standards and procedures.
- Provide bi-weekly schedule updates comparative to the baseline schedule.
- Directly supervise all phases of the project and ensure quality control inspections and testing are completed and accurate.
- Advise management of potential problems, work interferences, or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts.
- Ensure subcontract forces work efficiently to meet schedule demands and that the work carried out is done in accordance with the plans and specifications.
- Help organize and attend site meetings.
- Review the project plans (Consultant's design drawings) and specifications; provide prompt feedback to the Project Manager on building design conflicts, scheduling, possible cost-saving measures, potential errors, discrepancies, and construction problems which could arise.
- Monitor, contribute, and assure compliance with project construction plans, schedules, budgets, man hours, design requirements, and assume responsibility for the commissioning of project systems. Approval from the Project Manager or GM is required for items that affect the budget and schedule of the project.
- Take the lead on productivity issues and monitor work performance and efficiency of employees and subcontractors to ensure project plans and schedules are followed and the project is executed effectively and within budget.
- Ensure project materials and workmanship meet the project Quality Standards.
- Complete and review all documented deficiency list items.
