Key Responsibilities- Deliver preventative services in the form of screening, assessment, immunization, education/consultation, and health counseling to individuals and groups.
- Work as part of a team that constantly strives to improve services to the Yukon people.
- Develop and implement health promotion programs to address the health needs of our community.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to our clients.
- Conduct health education and promotion activities to empower individuals and communities to take control of their health.
- Current Registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority.
- Recent experience in public health nursing or related field with emphasis on breastfeeding education, immunization, health protection, illness prevention, health promotion and community development.
- Strong knowledge in community health programs, immunization delivery, and breastfeeding best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, organization, and flexibility.
- Ability to work independently and within a diverse team.
- Clear understanding of confidentiality.
- Regular exposure to infectious agents.
- Frequent driving and visiting clients in their homes.
- Occasional lifting and moving of clients and equipment.
- Ability to travel within Yukon up to 20%.
