Job Title: Community Health Nurse RN

Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a skilled Community Health Nurse RN to join our team in the Yukon. As a Community Health Nurse RN, you will be responsible for providing primary health care services to the client population within the legislated scope of practice, regulatory body standards of practice, organizational policies and procedures, and individual competencies.

Job Summary:

This is a unique opportunity to work in a Corrections Facility that operates similarly to a Community Health Centre with medical directives in the absence of a physician. You will focus on acute issues requiring advanced assessment knowledge.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide primary health care services to the client population
  • Work in a Corrections Facility with medical directives
  • Focus on acute issues requiring advanced assessment knowledge
Requirements:
  • Recent (within 5 years) Emergency Room/Urgent Care and Community Health Nurse experience combined (total 3 years)
  • Registration in Yukon is active and in good standing
  • Completed necessary certifications prior to travel and to complete specific certifications upon arrival to assignment
  • Physically able to complete walking 3-4 flights of stairs carrying an emergency medical bag (20 – 25 lbs)
