Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the position of Indigenous Studies Department Representative. As a member of our team, you will play a key role in advocating for the interests of Indigenous studies students and coordinating events that promote cultural understanding and awareness.

Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for the interests of Indigenous studies students
  • Organize and promote events that celebrate Indigenous culture and heritage
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase engagement and participation from Indigenous students
  • Maintain open lines of communication with faculty members and administrators to ensure that the needs of Indigenous students are being met
  • Work collaboratively with other ASUS representatives to achieve common goals

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Familiarity with Indigenous cultures and histories
