At SMS Equipment Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Technical Training Specialist to support our Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) operations.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to join our team and contribute to the success of our AHS business activities. As a Technical Training Specialist, you will be responsible for providing training and consulting services on the proper use of FrontRunner application and other equipment systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for equipment operators and staff on safe operational procedures, equipment operation, and software usage.
  2. Investigate and communicate operational issues with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and participate in resolution processes.
  3. Provide equipment support and technical guidance to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  4. Write and catalog operational reports, identifying areas for improvement and recommending modifications to enhance company practices.
  5. Ensure all trainees meet necessary qualifications and standards for their roles within the AHS mining environment.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment operation within the mining/construction industry.
  • Candidates must be eligible for OEM certification.
  • Familiarity with FrontRunner and Dispatch TM software systems, as well as Komatsu Ultra class haul trucks.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in diverse environments and prioritize client relations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications.
