Commercial Legal Counsel Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Legal Counsel to join our team at Velan Inc. in Ville St-Laurent, Quebec. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a crucial role in advising on and negotiating commercial contracts, managing intellectual property matters, and handling daily legal issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise on and negotiate commercial contracts, including sales and supply contracts, confidentiality agreements, and terms & conditions.
  • Manage intellectual property matters, including patent portfolio management, licensing, and registrations.
  • Handle daily legal issues, claims, and litigation management, as well as import/export and compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with external lawyers in relevant jurisdictions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is a must.
  • Membership in a Canadian provincial bar is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial law, preferably in an in-house role.
