Job Summary

As an Inventory Control Clerk with The North West Company, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate and timely inventory results for store operations. This position requires strong analytical and organizational skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with stores and management.

Key Responsibilities

- Review Central Receiving documents to ensure compliance with company policies and investigate discrepancies.
- Communicate with stores regarding receipt of weekly receiving registers and follow up on missing packing slips, claims, and clarification of documents and inventory results.
- Analyze and adjust preliminary and stock ledger reports to reflect proper cumulative markup percentages and investigate irregular markups.
- Reconcile and balance store monthly stock ledger transactions to the general ledger for sales, end of period stock levels, and cost of goods sold.
- Calculate and distribute store food inventory results on a quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis.
- Respond to store and management queries.

Requirements

- 1-2 years of related accounting experience or a combination of education and experience in a related field.
- Previous experience in account reconciliation and data entry preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office products, with a focus on Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks while adhering to strict deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service.
- Previous knowledge of store receiving and inventory procedures and systems is an asset.
