Job Title: Energy Engineer

At the University of Waterloo, we are seeking a highly skilled Energy Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Energy Management group, you will play a critical role in implementing and managing energy reduction and water conservation initiatives, as well as providing technical guidance on building automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement energy reduction and water conservation initiatives to minimize the University's environmental footprint.
  • Provide technical guidance on building automation systems, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Energy Manager to develop and implement strategies for reducing energy consumption and promoting sustainability.
  • Work closely with the Plant Operations team to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students, to promote energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Current Professional Engineering license in Ontario.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in designing, planning, and constructing building mechanical systems in a major institutional sector.
  • Proven project management experience, including developing project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a deep commitment to customer service and service excellence.
