About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team at Pinheiro's Janitorial Services as a Janitorial Assistant. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our clients' properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Dust furniture and other surfaces to prevent dust buildup
  • Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture to maintain a clean and tidy appearance
  • Disinfect operating rooms and other areas to maintain a high level of hygiene
  • Clean and disinfect elevators to ensure a safe and clean environment for users
  • Handle and report lost and found items to ensure that all items are accounted for
  • Provide basic information on facilities to clients and visitors
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties as needed to maintain a clean and organized environment
  • Wash windows, walls and ceilings to maintain a clean and tidy appearance
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner
Work Environment

You will be working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks. You will be required to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding role. You will also be required to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Work site environment: Outdoors and indoors in various locations
  • Work setting: Office building, cleaning service company, industrial facility or establishment, commercial building, private residence, health care institution, facility or clinic, shopping centre or mall, and warehouse
  • Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, attention to detail, bending, crouching, kneeling, combination of sitting, standing, walking, overtime required, sitting, standing for extended periods, and walking
  • Weight handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
  • Personal suitability: Punctuality, client focus, dependability, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability, values and ethics, work term: permanent, work language: English, and hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
