About the Opportunity

As a key member of the Nova Scotia Health Authority team, the Project Manager will oversee a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team responsible for the requirements, design, development, testing, and implementation of IM/IT and OPOR projects. This role supports the organization's direction towards the rationalization of disparate systems and the One Person, One Record (OPOR) strategy.

The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership behaviours and capabilities, consistent with the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework, and be accountable to support the NSHA mission and vision in the implementation and evaluation of all required health information and technology for decision making.

Key responsibilities include leading, implementing, and promoting the provincial strategic direction under the guidance and direction of the IMIT/OPOR Manager, ensuring a customer service focused approach throughout the portfolio, and establishing and maintaining working relationships with clinical staff, physicians, and other business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of project management methodologies, IM/IT tools, applications, and systems of support, as well as experience in leading teams of staff with indirect accountabilities to other operational units.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, develop and establish financial policies and procedures, and clearly communicate the NSHA vision, mission, and values.

About You
  • Undergraduate degree required; consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and work experience.
  • Minimum of five to seven years' leadership experience with IM/IT Services, project management, programs, and services.
  • Master's degree an asset, particularly in health administration, leadership, or business administration.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) required.
  • Certified Health Executive (CHE) and/or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) designation is an asset.
  • IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management Professions (PMO), and/or organizational change management certification is an asset.
  • Project Management experience in a complex healthcare organizational environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare issues.
  • Knowledge and skills in the areas of Project Management methodologies, IM/IT tools, applications, and systems of support.
  • Experience in leading teams of staff with indirect accountabilities to other operational units.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop and establish financial policies and procedures.
  • Clearly communicates the NSHA vision, mission, and values.
  • Experience in working with patient care leaders.
  • Competencies in other languages preferred, French an asset.

Compensation and Incentives

$41.48 - $51.85 Hourly
