Job Summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Enterprise Digital Transformation and Automation to lead the development and implementation of advanced solutions that align with the institution's objectives. This pivotal leadership role requires a strong understanding of digital transformation, automation, and innovation, as well as excellent leadership and team management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive digital transformation strategy that aligns with the institution's goals and objectives.
  • Lead the development and implementation of automation solutions that enhance enterprise platforms and streamline operational processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the university to understand their needs and challenges, and develop solutions that address these issues.
  • Provide strategic leadership and vision to senior technology staff and managers, and ensure the successful execution of strategic and transformative IT projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with academic and administrative stakeholders, and ensure that digital and automation solutions effectively address institutional challenges.
  • Champion innovation in digital solutions, and lead the implementation and optimization of enterprise applications and automation technologies.
  • Ensure effective governance, compliance with IT policies, standards, and regulatory requirements, and oversee technology-related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Requirements
  • Post-graduate degree and a minimum of thirteen years of related experience, including at least six years of managerial experience and five years of specialized experience in the administration and operation of centrally managed information technology services.
  • Strong background in sustaining and enhancing enterprise systems, such as Salesforce, Workday, and integration technologies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Senior-level experience with IT strategic planning, project management, budgeting, security, process transformation, and innovation in a higher education environment.
