Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead an integrated team of electrical engineers, designers, and drafters on small to medium-sized projects for various clients. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assigning resources to prepare deliverables, including single line drawings, area classifications drawings, cable tray layouts, panel layouts, cable/panel schedules, JB wiring diagrams, EHT isometrics, and electrical load lists specifications/datasheets for electrical equipment, RFQs/POs for electrical equipment and materials, etc.
  2. Tracking the progress of engineering deliverables and communicating regularly with the Program Engineering Manager; conducting man-hour estimating for new projects.
  3. Ensuring the quality of all deliverables produced by the electrical team.
  4. Manpower planning for the electrical team.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. At least 20 years of experience in facilities engineering and design in the Oil and Gas industry, with a preference for experience in thermal heavy oil.
  2. A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and registration as a professional engineer in Alberta.
  3. Proven experience leading a team of at least 6 engineers/designers.
  4. Experience in leading and developing a team is essential.
  5. This is a key leadership position, requiring strategic managerial skills and experience.
  6. Work experience across Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls is considered an asset.
  7. Experience with thermal heavy oil production projects is an asset.
