Service Technician

Brandt is currently seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team in the Nakusp and surrounding area, reporting to our Castlegar branch. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the working condition of heavy duty equipment, diagnose issues, and perform repairs and maintenance.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Operate related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
  • Accurately document work orders, including machine information, actions taken, and time taken.
  • Assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Locate and order parts from parts personnel.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade.
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
