Service Technician Job Description

Brandt is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team in the Nakusp and surrounding area, reporting to our Castlegar branch. This role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and diagnose the working condition of heavy duty equipment, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair as needed.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Operate related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
  • Accurately document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken.
  • Assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Locate and order parts from parts personnel.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Meet physical demands of the role, including climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
