Certified Culinary Specialist

About the Role:
Verve Senior Living is seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Cook to join our team at White Cliffe Terrace. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including entrees, sides, and desserts, using fresh ingredients and adhering to menu plans and dietary restrictions.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Assist with training and supervising kitchen staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and excellence.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of menus, ensuring they meet the needs and preferences of our residents.
- Collaborate with the Dining Services Manager to plan and execute special events and functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including receiving and storing inventory, maintaining kitchen equipment, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Minimum of grade 12 education and 2 years of experience in large volume food cooking, preparation, and plating techniques.
- Graduate of a recognized college food preparation program and Certified Red Seal certificate.
- Valid regional food handler's certificate and ability to communicate effectively in the English language.
- Strong knife and preparation skills, as well as fundamental baking skills.
- Dependable, responsible, and able to work well in a team environment.
