Strategic Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Strategic Procurement Specialist to join our team at Finning. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring goods and services from preferred suppliers to meet customer demand and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and procure goods and services from preferred suppliers.
- Expedite emergency orders, considering vendor cut-off times, transportation alternatives, and freight rates.
- Follow up with internal customers and vendors regarding delays, errors, pricing, or quality issues.
- Support branches and departments in understanding procurement processes and procedures.
- Ensure consistent adherence to procurement processes and maintain effective relationships with internal departments and vendors.
- Represent the company professionally and ethically, maintaining confidentiality.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of buying experience.
- SCM or equivalent degree/diploma in procurement, supply chain, or project management is an asset.
- Thorough knowledge of buying and expediting activities in end-to-end supply chain management.
- Experience in the heavy equipment, automotive, mining, parts, or power systems industry is preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
- Experience with ERP systems such as CODA/DBS, Infor, Rentalman, Sage, and SAP Ariba is an asset.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent team player with great organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong work ethic, both in-person and virtually.
Note:
- This position is based out of our OEM office location in Edmonton.
- Temporary, full-time role for 18 months.
- Hybrid role with some remote work opportunity.
- Training opportunities to learn about Finning's procurement processes and systems.
