The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join their team. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of medicines and pharmaceutical services within the trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits and assessments of aseptic preparation units to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
  • Develop and implement quality management systems to ensure the safe and secure handling and distribution of medicines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop expert content for national guidance on the Specialist Pharmacy Service website.
  • Provide training and support to staff on quality assurance and risk management practices.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to satisfy regulatory requirements.

About the Team

The Specialist Pharmacy Service has a QA team in every NHSE region, and as a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be part of a dynamic team working to ensure the quality of medicines and pharmaceutical services across the country.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Assurance or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive post-qualification experience in Good Manufacturing Practice, risk management, and quality management systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others.
  • Good IT skills, with the ability to accurately produce documentation and presentations using Microsoft packages.
