About the Role

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join their team. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of medicines prepared in aseptic units, working closely with the Specialist Pharmacy Service to develop and implement quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits of aseptic preparation units to ensure compliance with good manufacturing practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure the quality of medicines prepared in aseptic units.
  • Work closely with the Specialist Pharmacy Service to develop and implement quality assurance processes.
  • Provide training and support to staff on quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of guidance and policies on quality assurance and good manufacturing practice.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Assurance or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive post-qualification experience in quality assurance and good manufacturing practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good IT skills and ability to use Microsoft packages.
