Key Responsibilities:

Provide operational leadership and management of a major shopping centre, ensuring efficient operations, project management, and staff coordination.

Key Deliverables:

  • Regular feedback, performance appraisals, coaching, and training for staff.
  • Manage department goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Motivate and mentor staff for ongoing professional development and succession planning.
  • Hire, train, and supervise staff, ensuring adherence to Human Rights requirements.
  • Coordinate annual operating expense and capital budgets, gathering information for accurate forecasting.
  • Ensure timely completion of maintenance work, scheduling, and delegation to maintenance teams.
  • Oversee construction by external trade contractors, ensuring work is completed on time, within Building Code requirements.
  • Order necessary parts and services, accurately coding and signing invoices for payment.
  • Prepare accurate and concise reports for management, providing information for business decisions.
  • Enforce safety procedures, participating in safety training and ensuring legislative compliance.
  • Identify specifications and secure quotations for specialized services or repairs.
  • Maintain programs related to HVAC, energy management, environmental management, and other physical operations.
  • Secure CF property against loss, ensuring health, safety, and security procedures are adhered to.
  • Oversee Operation of the Loading Dock staff and all activities related to Waste Management and Central Stores.

Requirements:

  • Grade or equivalent.
  • Diploma in Building Environmental Systems offered through Community College.
  • Stationary Engineer Class Certificate, SMA (BOMA) or Building Environmental Systems II.
  • Minimum years experience in physical Operations management, with at least years supervisory experience, preferably in a shopping centre, office, or mixed use environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of:
  • General maintenance procedures.
  • Plumbing/carpentry skills.
  • Current technology.
  • HVAC, electrical/mechanical systems.
  • PM Program - Maximo.
  • Computer literacy and proficient in Word, Excel, and Building Automation Systems and Preventative Maintenance software.
