About the Role:
GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Cash Application Associate to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of customer payments, account reconciliations, and other financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payment Processing: Accurately apply incoming payments from customers against their respective invoices or accounts receivable, utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve any discrepancies.
- Account Reconciliations: Regularly reconcile cash receipts and apply adjustments or corrections as needed, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
- Bank Deposits: Prepare and process bank deposits for various entities, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Credit Card Refund: Process credit card refunds in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with company policies and payment processor regulations.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to payment applications, providing clear and concise communication to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Communication: Collaborate with customers, internal teams, and third-party vendors to ensure accurate and timely processing of payments, maintaining a high level of professionalism and courtesy.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all cash applications and transactions, generating reports as necessary to support financial reporting and auditing processes.
Requirements:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in cash application and accounts receivable
- College Diploma or equivalent qualification
- Thorough attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in typing and computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
- Experience with Navusoft, TRUX Route Management, and Great Plains systems preferred
- Bilingual proficiency in French is an asset
