The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading, scheduling, and mentoring maintenance operations. This includes Predictive, Preventative Maintenance, and TPM programs. The role involves installing, dismantling, or moving machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings. Additionally, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supporting building maintenance requirements through direct work and management of sub-contractor services. The goal is to ensure employee efficiency and quality work while maintaining a safe, clean, and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure equipment is properly maintained.
  2. Supervise and direct the maintenance team to perform equipment maintenance tasks.
  3. Manage equipment management registers and maintenance records.
  4. Commission and accept equipment to ensure it meets quality and safety standards.
  5. Collaborate with EHS to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  6. Manage facilities and grounds maintenance and upkeep.
  7. Work with maintenance personnel and manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot and coordinate equipment and facilities repairs.
  8. Partner with outside vendors to provide contracted services.
  9. Support Operational Excellence activities and promote a culture of safety.
  10. Ensure compliance with Komatsu Mining Corp safety policies and applicable regulations.

Qualifications/Requirements

  1. College diploma in Millwright, Electrical, or Mechanical technician or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 8 years' experience in Millwright or Electrical trade.
  3. Millwright ticket or Journeyman license is an asset.
  4. Minimum 3 years' experience in supervision.
  5. Familiarity with repair of manufacturing equipment, including lathes, mills, welding equipment, and paint equipment.
  6. Knowledge of machine centers, tools, and their designs, uses, and maintenance.
  7. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
  8. Experience with SAP or business-related systems.
  9. Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction or repair of buildings or other structures.
  10. Ability to safely operate tools and equipment within a production facility or office environment.
  11. Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
