Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Anaesthesia Assistant to join our dynamic team at North York General Hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical and technical assistance to the Department of Anesthesia in the Operating Room, PACU, L&D, Cysto, and other areas.
  • Set up and monitor Anesthesia equipment, and assist with patient care under the supervision of an anesthesiologist.
  • Collaborate with the anesthesia team to ensure quality patient care and follow hospital policies and medical directives.
  • Support the hospital's academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning, and transforming care through research and innovation.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse or Registered Respiratory Therapist registered in good standing with respective Colleges.
  • Successful completion of an Advanced Anaesthesia Assistance Certificate Program.
  • Certifications in BCLS, ACLS, and PALS (NRP an asset).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the Anaesthesia Assistant role, and 2 years of Critical Care or Operating Room experience.

What We Offer:

Part-time temporary position of 18 months with 8-hour shifts, days, evenings, and weekends in the Surgery-Operating Room. We offer a highly competitive total compensation package, including pay in lieu of benefits, vacation pay, and the opportunity to join the Hospital Pension Plan.
