We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team at Thompson Rivers University. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing community outreach programs to promote our services and build relationships with community groups and organizations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement community outreach strategies to promote our services and build relationships with community groups and organizations.
- Conduct outreach and engagement activities with community groups, organizations, and individuals to promote our services and build relationships.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement outreach programs that align with our strategic objectives.
- Provide training and support to students and staff on community outreach and engagement best practices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community outreach programs and make recommendations for improvement.
- Minimum of three years of experience in community outreach, public engagement, or a related field.
- General knowledge of the legal system and its impact on low-income individuals.
- Knowledge of community groups and social services and how to access them locally.
- Demonstrated ability to make presentations to small groups in an effective fashion.
- Experience working with challenging clients and ability to recognize and diffuse stressful situations.
- Substantial experience working or volunteering in the non-profit sector.
- Flexible schedule and ability to work independently.
- Experience in social work, counseling, or working at non-profits.
- Knowledge of the Thompson Nicola Cariboo region and its community groups and organizations.
- A competitive salary range of $26,000 to $32,000 depending on experience.
