Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Part-time Field Technician to join our team at SOAR Professional Services LP in New Brunswick. As a Field Technician, you will work closely with our environmental planners to support Indigenous Knowledge Braiding throughout the field season.

We're looking for individuals who are ready to make a difference and participate in Indigenous Knowledge Braiding. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable field technician experience and work alongside field crew to collect aquatic and terrestrial baseline data at various sites.

Responsibilities

- Comply with applicable health and safety procedures and guidelines
- Travel to and from sites for field work 2.5 days/week
- Work alongside field crew to collect aquatic and terrestrial baseline data at various sites, documenting findings using a cellphone and/or tablet and field book
- Work with Elders, Indigenous Land Users, Language holders, and Knowledge Holders to increase Indigenous participation during the field season
- Work with sub-consultants and subcontractors

Requirements

- Interest in environmental science and a background in an environmental science field would be considered an asset
- Valid driver's licence, a car with insurance, or the ability to rent a car in New Brunswick
- Reliability and the ability to work the required schedule as outlined above
- Commitment to project quality and project deadlines
