We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Medicine Specialist to join our team at Bureau Vétérinaire de l'Abitibi. As a key member of our veterinary clinic, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch animal care services to our clients.
Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with farm animals and possess excellent diagnostic skills. Your duties will include diagnosing diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests.
You will also be responsible for treating sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery. Additionally, you will vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases and advise clients on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry
- Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
- Certification from the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association
- Valid driver's licence
Please note that experience as an animal health technologist or animal care worker is an asset but not required.
