Diesel Mechanic

At CH Logistics, we are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. You will diagnose faults using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required. Your duties will also include ordering parts, maintaining inventory, adjusting equipment, and repairing or replacing defective parts. Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping maintenance reports and documentation, testing repaired equipment for proper performance, and ensuring that work meets manufacturers' specifications. You will also be required to clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work, as well as perform repair work on heavy trucks and verify and repair emission control systems.
Work Conditions and Physical CapabilitiesThe work environment is physically demanding, requiring attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity. Overtime may be required. You will be required to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs). We are looking for someone who is accurate, dependable, and has excellent oral communication skills. You should be a team player and organized.
ExperienceWe are seeking someone with 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role. You will be required to provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees. You will also be required to provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers and members of visible minorities.
This is a permanent position with 35 hours of work per week. The language of work is English.
