We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Steel Project Manager to join our team on the prestigious Ontario Line project. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of structural steel components, ensuring timely delivery and exceptional quality.

Job Description:

  • Develop and implement detailed plans for structural steel components, including procurement, fabrication, and installation schedules.
  • Coordinate with main consultant, subcontractor/supplier designers, and construction teams to ensure structural steel activities are integrated with the overall project plan.
  • Manage and coordinate all activities related to structural steel subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and deadlines.
  • Oversee quality control for structural steel fabrication and installation, providing support to the project and subcontractor quality teams.
  • Monitor and manage the structural steel budget, ensuring all activities are completed within the allocated budget, and collaborate with the project management team to track costs and address any variances.
  • Identify potential risks related to structural steel fabrication and installation, develop strategies to mitigate these risks, and ensure the project stays on track and meets safety and quality standards.
  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to review and approve structural steel drawings and specifications, ensuring alignment with the overall project timeline.
  • Create and maintain schedules for structural steel activities, track progress, and report regularly on the status of steel-related tasks.
  • Ensure all structural steel activities are carried out in accordance with OTG's health and safety policies and relevant local regulations.
  • P prepare and maintain accurate records of all structural steel-related activities, including procurement, fabrication, installation, and quality inspections.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in structural steel project management, with a focus on large civil infrastructure or construction projects, preferably with complex tunneling or underground projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel design, fabrication, and installation, familiarity with relevant codes and standards for structural steelwork in construction, including AISC and CISC standards.
  • Proficiency in project management software (Excel, Microsoft Project), AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-specific tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and resolve issues related to structural steel activities.
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience managing and coordinating large teams of subcontractors and vendors.
  • High level of attention to detail, particularly when reviewing designs, specifications, and quality control documentation.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction safety standards and practices, with a focus on steel fabrication and installation activities.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
