The Chief Diversity Officer will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy that promotes a culture of belonging and respect within our organization.
This role will involve working closely with senior leaders to design and deliver initiatives that foster an inclusive environment, increase diversity, and promote equitable outcomes. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing effective diversity strategies, as well as experience in conflict resolution and mediation.
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including employees, faculty, program participants, and community partners. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
A key focus of this role will be on creating access, community, and belonging initiatives that support the needs of Indigenous peoples, Black cultures, Persons of Colour, and Differently Abled individuals. The Director will work closely with team members to develop and implement programs that promote cross-cultural capacity-building and provide opportunities for growth and development.
Responsibilities:
- Design and lead the development of a comprehensive diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy
- Work closely with senior leaders to implement diversity initiatives and promote a culture of belonging
- Develop and implement programs that promote cross-cultural capacity-building and create opportunities for growth and development
- Mentor and guide colleagues on developments related to Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Being
- Represent the organization at sector networks and conferences related to diversity and inclusion
- Provide conflict resolution support for all employees, Faculty, and program participants
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and knowledge of Truth and Reconciliation calls to action
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective diversity strategies
