Family Medicine Physician

We are seeking a Family Medicine Physician to provide locum coverage to our community in New Germany, Nova Scotia. This is a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative practice with two Nurse Practitioners and have access to lab and x-ray services, as well as a network of supportive specialist colleagues from the nearby regional center.
The clinic is located near our local pharmacy and offers a small-town feel with lots of activities and amenities. The community is enthusiastic and eager to make new physicians feel welcome and can assist in finding accommodations if needed.
Responsibilities- Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
- Act as a patient's advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
- Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
- Part-time locum
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
