About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at Carol Lake Metal Works Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our machine tools to produce high-quality metal parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts to ensure accuracy and precision
  • Measure and lay out work pieces for assembly, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and charts to understand production requirements
  • Repair and maintain machine tools and parts to ensure optimal performance
  • Set up and adjust production machinery and tools to meet production needs
  • Fabricate and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
  • Maintain and calibrate precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy
  • Document and report any deviations from specifications and tolerances
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precision measuring instruments
  • Operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools to produce high-quality parts
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field
  • Willingness to relocate for this position
  • Criminal record check
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks
  • Physical demands of the job require standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects
  • Excellent oral communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
