At American Iron & Metal, we are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Transportation Director to lead our domestic transportation department, focusing on rail operations. This role will play a critical part in our company's continued growth and success in the metal recycling industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise rail fleet operations teams and mentor service providers to ensure optimal utilization of company assets.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve railway transportation efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with sales, operational, and administrative teams to drive business growth and meet customer needs.
  • Manage and negotiate contracts with rail service providers to ensure cost-effectiveness and high-quality service.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in logistics, with direct railway exposure.
  • Demonstrated senior leadership and decision-making track-record in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Pronounced business acumen and problem-solving skills, analytical and creative thinker, adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change.
  • Experience in change management and project management.
  • Bilingual - English and French required.
