Job Title: Community Service Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Service Worker to join our team at NEXUS Community Support Society.

About the Role

This is a permanent part-time position, working 1 to 30 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support services to individuals and communities, promoting social inclusion and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide education and support to clients, promoting their independence and self-advocacy.
  • Assist clients with daily living tasks, such as transportation and meal preparation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of programs and services.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, as required.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and Food Safety Certificate.
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a community support setting.
  • Knowledge of community resources and services.
  • Fluency in English.
