Job Title: Community Service Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Community Service Worker to join our team at NEXUS Community Support Society.

Job Summary:

The Community Service Worker will provide support to individuals and families in our community, focusing on education, experience, and personal development. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, and possess a strong commitment to community service.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide education and support to individuals and families in our community, focusing on education, experience, and personal development.
  • Assist with daily tasks and activities, such as meal preparation, household chores, and errands.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, service providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of community programs and services.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience an asset.
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Food Safety Certificate.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Efficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Client focus.
  • Initiative.
  • Team player.
  • Organized.
Working Conditions:

The Community Service Worker will work in a fast-paced community setting, interacting with diverse individuals and families. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
