Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Canco #117. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of food, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, and supporting the kitchen team in achieving our high standards of quality and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of food, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors, and cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Support the kitchen team in achieving our high standards of quality and service, including receiving, unpacking, and storing supplies, and removing kitchen garbage and trash.
  • Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees, and assist with immediate settlement needs, such as housing, transportation, and storage.
  • Support social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, including facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Will train.
  • Relocation costs covered by employer.
