Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Groundskeeper II to join our team at BC Housing. As a key member of our grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality groundskeeping, landscape maintenance, and gardening services for our properties.

Key Responsibilities

1. Performs groundskeeping, landscape maintenance, and gardening duties, including:

a. Planting, cultivating, mowing, edging, weeding, and applying lime to lawns

b. Pruning shrubs, trees, and ground covers

c. Keeping walks, driveways, and entrances clean and performing minor patch repairs to asphalt

d. Operating and performing minor maintenance on mowers, edgers, trimmers, and sweepers

e. Operating Employer's vehicle, including trailers, to load, unload, and deliver supplies and equipment

f. Maintaining outdoor storm drains and sewers

g. Constructing and repairing various landscape and fencing projects

h. Installing and repairing lawns and lawn maintenance equipment

i. Operating landscaping vehicles and maintenance equipment

j. Interacting with tenants in a professional and diplomatic manner, referring them to other staff as needed

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

a. A strong understanding of groundskeeping, landscape maintenance, and gardening principles and practices

b. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

c. Ability to work independently and as part of a team

d. Physical ability to perform manual labor and operate equipment

e. Valid driver's license and ability to operate Employer's vehicle
