We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Reporting Manager to join our team at Aviva Canada. This role will be responsible for delivering excellence in Financial Reporting to shareholders and regulators on a timely and accurate basis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in IFRS technical expertise and Property and Casualty insurance operations. They will be responsible for reviewing and ensuring timely and accurate P&C-1 reporting to OSFI for the Aviva insurance entities, preparing statutory financial statements for the insurance entities and all other subsidiaries, and assisting with special technical accounting issues relating to IFRS standards.

The Senior Financial Reporting Manager will also be responsible for assisting with the implementation and development of accounting policy memorandums under IFRS and Solvency II, reviewing Aviva Group Reporting Instructions and establishing quarterly, half-year and year-end closing procedures, and preparing and coordinating the year-end reporting timetable, meetings and deliverable task list.

Additionally, the Senior Financial Reporting Manager will act as a key liaison to the external audit function, which includes preparing and acquiring schedules, completing substantive procedures and ensuring requested deliverables from all areas are submitted by the agreed timelines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and analytical skillset, with the ability to translate complex analysis and recommendations into simple communication. They will also have strong Excel capabilities and be a great teammate with strong initiative.
