About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior EHS Specialist to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Program across small sites in Alberta and Ontario.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Canadian workplace environmental, health, and safety legislation, as well as ISO14001 standards.
  2. Oversight of all EHS programs to ensure statutory and organizational compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  3. Manage EHS program documentation, ensuring compliance against legislative requirements and company standards.
  4. Collaborate with programs, facilities, and other site leads to integrate EHS into work processes and business activities.
  5. Implement the EHS Three Year Plan, driving strategy and turning goals into tactical plans to achieve results.
  6. Monitor and complete all EHS regulatory reporting requirements.
  7. Support audit and inspection processes, presenting findings to the site EHS Committee.
  8. Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and develop corrective actions.
  9. Lead the Industrial Hygiene program, ensuring routine testing/monitoring, preparing reports, and managing employee notifications.
  10. Oversee the EHS training program, developing and delivering training sessions.
  11. Work with the Facilities team to lead sustainability initiatives and report on metrics.
  12. Provide EHS subject matter expertise for process design and equipment procurement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in EHS, preferably in a leadership or management role.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification is highly desirable.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and NT networking.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment.
