We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Oncology Specialist to join our team at the Dr. Léon Richard Oncology Centre in New Brunswick, Canada.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Regional Radiation Oncology Division head and the medical director concerned, as part of the medical team at the oncology centre.

This is a permanent full-time position with an estimated salary range of $150,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description

The Radiation Oncology Specialist will practice medicine as part of the medical team at the Dr. Léon Richard Oncology Centre, which includes radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, hematologists, and gynecologic oncologists.

The successful candidate will use their knowledge of the basic and clinical sciences of oncology in the delivery of therapeutic ionizing radiation and other forms of treatment.

Radiation oncologists apply knowledge of the techniques, indications, and contraindications to the use of radiotherapy.

The specialist will provide individualized care and support to adult patients and their loved ones throughout the trajectory of their disease.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Must have a degree from a recognized medical school and residency granting a licence in radiation oncology.
  • Recognized certification in radiation oncology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is required.
  • Active member of the Canadian Medical Protective Association or equivalent liability insurance association.
  • Member of the New Brunswick Medical Society.
  • Experience in Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (SRS) and Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SABR) is considered an asset.

A recognized medical school must be accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) in the United States.
