We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Host to join our team at Eldorado Resort. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as an ambassador for Eldorado Resort, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a warm welcome for all guests.
  • Manage the front entrance, host stand, and surrounding areas to maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Escort guests to their tables, engage them in conversation, and seat them accordingly.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the menu, including allergens, to effectively communicate with guests and servers.
  • Effectively manage guest flow to maximize seating capacity and ensure a smooth dining experience.
  • Accurately take reservations and modify guest status in OpenTable, ensuring seamless communication with the kitchen and servers.
  • Fill out detailed special requests in OpenTable for birthdays, anniversaries, VIPs, and other special occasions.
  • Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and managers to ensure a cohesive and efficient service.
  • Perform daily checks for room service trays and coordinate with the culinary team and Front Desk for daily amenity deliveries.
  • Understand the payment system and be able to take payment for guests.
  • Follow lost and found procedures, including collecting items and passing them on to the Manager on Duty or Front Desk.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service and/or a restaurant is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 16 years of age.
  • Passion for the restaurant and hospitality industry.
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to think outside the box.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and high attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Squirrel and OpenTable considered an asset.
  • Valid Serving It Right certification.
  • Availability to work during the day on weekdays, as well as flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
