Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Warehouse Architect to join our team at Winland Foods, Inc. as a key member of our Business Intelligence team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing enterprise data warehouse solutions that meet the business needs of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements and Analysis
    • Elicit business requirements from stakeholders and create work breakdown structures to plan and execute deliverables.
    • Investigate, analyze, and understand data contents of source data systems.
    • Apply dimensional modeling techniques for data warehouse design.
    • Research, evaluate, and recommend alternative approaches to solve complex problems.
    • Define and improve coding standards and guidelines for design, construction, testing, and deployment activities.
    • Collaborate with project teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
    • Understand dependencies and timing issues between source systems and data warehouse operations.
    • Work with business process experts, business managers, BI analysts, and IT leadership to understand requirements for data warehouse development projects.
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, system capabilities, and delivery methodologies.
  • Design and Solution Blueprint
    • Design data warehouse dimensional models and documentations.
    • Design data architecture for DW components.
    • Drive UAT activities with business partners to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
    • Lead DW/BI initiatives from ideation to completion.
    • Maintain standard data elements across all data structures in DW.
    • Define, develop, and lead implementation of long-term strategy and roadmap for Data Warehousing, Data Science, and ML.
  • Development and Support
    • Develop and test ETL processes using tools like SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Talend, or future technologies.
    • Write SQL Server/Snowflake queries and DDL/DML scripts.
    • Understand and configure SAP Business Object Data Services.
    • Write Unix/Linux shell scripts.
    • Have some understanding of Power BI.
    • Provide support during off-hours and escalate issues to other resources as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 9+ years of full Software Development Life Cycle experience.
  • 7+ years of practical experience with ETL tools and complex transformation business rules implementation.
  • 3+ years of experience with SSIS or ADF, Talend.
  • 1+ year of experience in implementing and supporting DW in any cloud platform.
  • 3+ years of practical experience with writing SQL queries, including complex queries.
  • 5+ years of practical experience working on data warehouse projects using dimensional modeling.
  • Ability to analyze existing SSIS code for improvements, enhancements, conversion, and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability in collecting and documenting requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting capability and skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to execute data warehouse tasks in a timely manner without guidance.
  • Ability to lead walk-throughs of design documents.
  • Ability to learn and participate in a team environment.
  • Project management and SDLC understanding required.
  • Travel expectations 10-25%.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with data warehouse design/development in manufacturing companies.
  • Experience in using SAP ERP as a source system.
  • Experience in cloud DW – snowflake and Azure cloud platform using Azure Data Factory, Talend, Fivetran/dbt, or Matillion.
  • Ability to use previous experience to identify most appropriate solutions or improve defined procedures.
  • Ability to work with users of all levels to identify requirements and deliver timely results.
