Job Summary

Brandt is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician to join our team at our Milton Construction & Forestry location. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments in a field environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the working condition of heavy duty equipment, diagnose issues, and perform repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently, and operate related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
  • Accurately document all machine information, actions taken, and time taken on work orders.
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis, and locate parts and order parts from parts personnel.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Requirements

  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred.
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment considered an asset.
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis/troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proven computer and technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work.
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.
  • Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • A commitment to high quality customer service with a strong people orientation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
