Job Title: Welder-Fitter

AMG Metals Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder-Fitter to join our team. As a Welder-Fitter, you will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and ensuring that welds meet standards and specifications.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring the ability to handle heavy loads and work in a dusty and noisy environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret welding process specifications and ensure that welds meet standards and specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, including arc welding machines, butt or seam resistance welding machines, and gas welding machines
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and specifications
  • Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
Requirements
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Forklift Operator Certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads
  • Excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination
