About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our interdisciplinary team in a rural hospital setting. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care across the spectrum of acute and emergency care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and others. They will practice within the Nova Scotia College of Nursing Standards of Nursing Practice for Registered Nurses and the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Registered or eligible for licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
  • Required or must obtain within 1-2 years of hire: CTAS, EPICC – Foundations, BLS-C, ACLS, PALS, EPICC – Pediatrics, ENPC, Trauma course, and Rural Trauma Program or TNCC
  • Previous acute care experience an asset
  • Emergency Nursing Program or Critical Care Nursing Program an asset
  • ENC Certification an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with patients/residents, families, other healthcare providers, and staff while demonstrating sensitivity, empathy, and warmth
  • Ability to demonstrate sound decision-making skills in crisis situations and be accountable for decisions
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Basic computer skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent full-time position with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. The hourly rate is $39.76-$49.01, with the possibility of increasing to $50.73 with 25 years of RN nursing experience.

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
