Job Title: Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Southwood Trucking Ltd. as a key member of our logistics operations.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining a variety of trucks to transport goods and materials across various locations. This role requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and excellent judgment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Logistics: Manage cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, as well as perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, and maintain accurate records of cargo and vehicle data.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Documentation: Familiarity with driver logbooks, maintenance and repair reports, and trip reports
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with repetitive tasks and varying weather conditions
  • Personal Qualities: Flexibility, judgment, organization, reliability, and teamwork skills
