About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team in Powell River, BC. As a key member of our Long Term Care team, you will work closely with licensed physiotherapists to provide high-quality care to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Function under the operational supervision of the Manager or Team Leader and the direction of a licensed designated physiotherapist to work as a member of the healthcare team.
  • Provide assigned physical therapy therapeutic interventions.
  • Assist in modification of PT care plans to enable clients to maximize their potential for independence.
  • Provide functional direction to clients and families, report relevant observations of clients' conditions and progress in writing or by utilizing basic computer literacy, manage equipment safety and inventory.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized Diploma level Rehabilitation Assistant Program with Physical therapy components plus one (1) year's recent, related experience working with the target population or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a vehicle. Local area travel requires the use of a personal vehicle for which mileage will be reimbursed.
