Job Summary

We are seeking a Casual Recreation Worker to join our team at the City of Regina. As a Casual Recreation Worker, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating diverse and inclusive sport, culture, and recreation activities. You will also be responsible for preparing facilities, setting up and taking down equipment, and supervising the facility for scheduled bookings, programs, and special events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate diverse and inclusive sport, culture, and recreation activities for children and youth.
  • Prepare facilities, set up and take down equipment, and supervise the facility for scheduled bookings, programs, and special events.
  • Monitor the building and ensure a safe and efficient operation of equipment, programs, and facilities.
  • Provide excellent customer service and be a positive role model for children and youth.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and exercise initiative and good judgment when completing work assignments.
Requirements
  • Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR Level 'C' or St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid & CPR Level 'C' certification.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule, instruct, and evaluate program activities.
  • Proven customer service skills and ability to be a positive role model for children and youth.
  • Dependable and reliable with the means to travel within the City.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year post-secondary education in Kinesiology, Education, or a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Experience working with children and youth in a recreation or community setting.
