About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team at Baldev Farm Ltd as a Farm Worker. This is a permanent position that requires a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply fertilizers to crops to promote healthy growth and development
  • Clean and maintain the crops to ensure high quality and yield
  • Clear fields of wood and stones to prepare for planting and harvesting
  • Cut and harvest agricultural crops to meet market demand
  • Grade and sort fruits and vegetables according to size, shape, color, and volume
  • Perform greenhouse cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Hand harvest vegetables and fruits to ensure quality and freshness
  • Harvest seedlings and plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops to promote growth
  • Remove suckers and water sprouts from crops to improve yield and quality
  • Sort and pack fruits and vegetables for market
  • Weed and fertilize crops to control pests and diseases
  • Examine products for quality and readiness for market
Requirements
  • Experience in fruit and vegetable combination farming an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week
Working Conditions

Staff accommodation available on site. Work site environment includes fruit and vegetable combination farming. Type of crops include blueberries, berries, and mushrooms. Area of specialization includes nursery or greenhouse. Weight handling up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment include gloves.

Language

English is the primary language of communication in the workplace.
